Putting together scavenger hunt lists can be an intimidating task some times. One of the most important things you should do when getting your list together is to remember who the audience is. One quick way to turn a hunt into a boring afternoon is to create a hunt that is too hard or too easy for the people. Using scavenger hunt clues is one area where you can be sure to add a bit of spice.
For instance, the following scavenger hunt list would be fantastic for children to keep them entertained for a while, but you give the list to an adult and they will probably get bored.
- Feather
- Recyclable item
- Paper airplane
- Biggest leaf you can find
- Smallest leaf you can find
- Snail (be very gentle)
- Birthday candle
Now if you were to create the list as clues then you would probably better suit the adults. Here’s an example.
- I help to fly and keep dry but I’m not heavy.
- Return me for your deposit.
- Folded well, I will soar. Paper is the essence.
- I may fall in autumn, but I am large.
- I might be tiny but my tree loves me.
- See me move so slow when I’m carrying my house.
- I get blown away as they sign.
This has taken the list and made everyone think a bit harder. It’s easy to transform a simple list into clues in order to make your Scavenger Hunt List come alive.
